Types of Camera Shots

This week we learned about all the different types of camera shots! Here are 12 examples I shot.

1. This is an establishing shot. This shot sets the scene and is good for beginnings of shows or movies. It  was definitely easy and one of my favorites.

2.This is a high angle shot. This shot was easy and fun because its an angle I typically don't ever use or see often.

3.This is a head on shot. This is a common shot but hard to do because finding an object/action to do at the camera took some thought. This could definitely be used in action movies.

     4. This is an extreme close up shot. I really liked this shot because I never have shot anything like it, and the camera quality turned out very well. I could see this used in short films or music videos.

5.This was a point of view shot. This one is my favorite because it really shows what I was seeing. This was difficult because it took two people but I thought the view was interesting.

6.This is a two shot. This one was fun however I wish I would've backed up so my subjects had more room.

7.This is a close up shot. Very simple yet I can see why this is an important type of shot for many types of film

8.This is a low angle shot. If we had an interesting background like a large building I could see how this shot would be very cool, however just trying it at home was interesting too.

9.This is a dolly shot. We tried to manipulate the "set of tracks" using a rolling chair and a tripod however it did not turn out as well as I hoped. I see dolly shots a lot in action movies.

10.This is an over the shoulder shot. This was a cool angle, I liked how it was simple but gave the viewer a more interesting point of view. I could see this being used in many movies and possibly scary movies to create a more eerie effect.

11. This was a pan shot. I thought this shot was silly and fun, I rarely see this used in shows unless the subjects are far away or in a courtroom type situation. us

12. My final shot is a flash shot. Although it was silly for us because it was hard to create a scary jump scare type scene, I see this used very often in scary movies and it has a good effect.

Comments

  1. The pan shot was funny and made me laugh it was so staged that it was funny.
The over the shoulder shot was very normal and fluid and actually made me believe I was there with you.
Flash Shot was very confusing because it was so fast I didn't know who or what it was.
The Close up shot reminds me of my angle when I look a the key board everyday for school.

  2. 1.) I like the utilization of a dog toy as a prop in the high angle shot, as well as the creative thinking to have the actors get lower rather than elevating the camera angle.
2.) The head on shot was really entertaining, amazing throw by the actor.
3.) I like the point of view shot because dogs are the best and it was creative to use two people to film it.
4.) I liked the over the shoulder shot because it was a creative angle and idea.
