"The Trip" Final Draft

I think our reviews were mostly positive. We had some issues with the scenery and how we got to the locations, because the airport wasn't a place we could film at we thought using the clubhouse would somewhat look like an airport entrance, we did the best we could with our resources but it is understandable that it was a little confusing. Together my group and I want to see how we could change or clarify that.

The Trip First Draft

More discussion about editing: Problems have come up. We want to find non copyright audio of a screaming woman and we have discussed going out to the airport again for a flight of planes because we don't know if we have enough plane footage shown, the concept of them at an airport wasn't completely exaggerated. Our solution proposed was to be either to talk to our AICE Media instructor to see if we could use footage of that found without copyright or just to go try to find a plane ourselves. So far it has taken about an hour to edit. Nicole Maddy and I sat around my computer to figure out some cuts and how the film was going to progress. Here is a photo of my computer screen during editing, using iMovie and Final Cut Pro: I, taking the job as main editor am most comfortable using these editing applications. I have used them before and they're easily accessible on my computer Here is a photo of all us students working on this film: We have yet to completely decide on titles and fonts. Really it depends on our final draft. We want it to be simple yet eerie. The font called Chalkduster put in red makes an eerie effect. So far that is what we have. Little transition or audio effects has been added as well. We plan on trying to find a clip of a scream effect for the end of the film but for the first draft it has yet to be added. 

The second day was car day not only did we go to the airport but we did a lot of filming in the cars, this first shot was shot by Nicole, we took separate cars so I was not in the car for this exact shot but we had Nicole film all of the car conversations to let the viewers better know what's going on. Another shot is when the person Maddy is cheating with pulls up to the airport/clubhouse. We used Nick's car for this scene and it builds interest for the viewer to see this car come and not know who this man is coming out. This day overall was more simple and just included a lot of driving

The first day we filmed it was mostly a practice day and day we decided where to film what scenes and started filming them. At the clubhouse where Nicole lives we made it out to be the entrance to the airport, because we knew it would be difficult to actually film at a private airport. The other significant location was Nicole's house which is Maddy's house in the film. Two shots that were important that were this first one, Nick, Maddy's husband reminding maddy not to forget her bible which is a way of foreshadowing later Maddy does forget her bible and that's how she is caught cheating. The second significant scene we filmed on day one was where Nick realizes that Maddy forgot the Bible and runs into the airport (clubhouse) and he see's that Maddy is cheating on him. This is where the whole plot for the film is established and is a turning point for the film.

This is our storyboard. Maddy did the art while Nicole and I tried to help devise our filming plan and plot. The story is about a man seeking revenge on his cheating wife. After the man drops his wife off at the airport he sees her meet another man. He gets so mad, and goes into his trunk to get a knife. Then the scene cuts off, creating suspense and a good opening for a movie.

        There are many reasons we chose horror as our film opening. For me, horror is my favorite genre overall. In my opinion, horror films can never be boring. Horror films keep the audience on the edge of their seats. I especially like how the producers writers and directors can create such complex plots while making it scary. Although most horror films seem silly, the really well done movies can be entertaining and fascinating. Horror movies combine fiction and real situations to make it seem more relatable to the audience. Plots target common fears and prays on the emotions and statistics of the audience's emotions.          My favorite horror movie is IT chapter one and IT chapter two. The actors, the plot, the humor, the details, and the thrill combined makes it one of the most entertaining horror movies and my personal favorite. The beginning of the first movie is ominous. Rise      Rise begins with different shots of a car and a boy with different credits shown of the people staring and helping with this film, then the title "Rise". Then, music begins and this boy starts intently practicing soccer. I really liked the lighting and the shots these students used for this. Then, a new character comes in the opening and seems to have bad intentions or an angry look on his face. When the boy realizes this new guy staring, they both share intense looks. Offline     This opening begins with credits, and then a mysterious figure on a girls instagram page. It then reveals the girl he's looking at is in a cage. Having flashbacks to times when she was on her phone or just living a normal life. It then cuts off as she wakes up and realizes where she is. November 10 2019 Quarter 2 Week 3 "Agent Carter" directed by Lous D'Esposito demonstrates many different types of camera shots, different types of editing, sound effects, and mise-en-scene just through the short video I watched. Viewing this and writing about it helps me better understand the different parts of film because i got to see real examples of the film aspects we have been studying. Starting off with different types of camera shots and angles, the film clip we watched started with some close up shots of Peggy and Steve. It then switches to an establishing shot showing New York. This sets the scene and shows that time has passed and it is a different time period than what we had just seen. An over the shoulder shot is also used when Peggy is working at her desk and talking to two men. Furthermore, different close up shots are used when Peggy is fighting the two men. October 25 2019 Quarter two week one Mise En Scene: Gossip Girl I am currently watching Gossip Girl, so I decided to do this week's assignment while watching and episode, because as I watch this show frequently, I think it would be interesting to study the show. The episode used is Season 2 Episode 10: Bonfire of the Vanity The episode begins in Brooklyn, New York. The setting is casual, located inside of one of the main character's, Dan Humphrey's apartment. Both characters in the scene, are placed in the kitchen with deep space , many different parts of the apartment are shown and you can tell the depth and difference of space between items. As the scene shifts to the Upper East side of New York, in Blair Waldorf's apartment, deep space is still used at the large table of girls chatting about boys and parties, this is the point where costume changes. As Brooklyn is a more middle class part of New York, the character's costume is casual. Upper East side...

October Eleventh 2019 Quarter one week eight & nine Our 5 master edits with sound is uploaded here: Five Master Edits w/ Sound The first video we added sound into was contrast ; it begun with a video of Nicole studying with calming classical music added in. Then, it turns into a video of Nicole jumping off the diving off board with splashing sound effects added in. The second video we worked on was parallelism . This video we tried to do a voiceover , I am "talking" to nicole as we walk to class.  The third video was symbolism . This, was personally my favorite. We used the Lely Trojans as our symbol and to keep a school theme, we used a video clip of the drum-line playing an opening theme. The fourth video is Simultaneity. This video is the inside and outside of the school with the sound of crickets playing emphasizing that it is a quiet setting in both scenes. The fifth video is Leitmotif .
